    Tepper Broadway League Panel Event

    April 22, 2016

TepperThe Tepper Semester, located at Syracuse University's Fisher Center, a part of the University's Department of Drama, has entered into a new partnership with The Broadway League and is now the new official host of the League's Distance Learning program. Two panels were held in April including one that explored Women Leaders in the Arts and included SU alumna and Broadway producer Daryl Roth.

Tepper Students were joined via Skype by students from the University of Maryland for the discussion that brought Roth, Jennifer Hershey, the Vice President of Building Operations at Jujamcyn Theaters, and Tara Rubin, casting director, for the panel moderated by Elisa Lichtenbaum, a Senior Writer at Channel 13/WNET. The women spoke about their paths into the industry itself before sharing their experiences as women working in the theater which, for several of them, came during the Feminist movement of the sixties and seventies. They contrasted that experience to what they viewed as wider and broader acceptance and opportunity for women today. The program wrapped after a Q & A with students.
