Mulligan and Pregler Engage Fellow Orange Alumni in NYC

    February 13, 2017

    Alumni Engagement Suite Open

If you have not been to Lubin House in a while, you notice the changes immediately. Gone is the second-floor office space, formerly housing computers and printers. Instead, you walk into the new Alumni Engagement Suite filled with orange pillows, artwork, and copies of The Daily Orange.

Pam (Brink) Mulligan ’89 joined Syracuse University on Election Day 2016 as the first executive director of alumni engagement leading the vision for all alumni engagement for the Metro New York Area, including New Jersey, Westchester County, Southern Connecticut, Long Island, and sister city Philadelphia. The Newhouse School and Maxwell School dual major was most recently vice president and chair of the Philanthropy Committee for the Syracuse University Alumni Association and prior to that served as president of the Central New Jersey Alumni Club. Mulligan also serves as an alumni admissions representative and was a practicing attorney, as well as a marketing executive, prior to joining Syracuse University.  Mulligan completes the Executive team at Lubin House which also include Stephanie Cook who leads the Advancement team and Patti Dombrowski who leads the Operations team.

“Most people only dream of a career where they can live their passion every day, and that is what I do every single day engaging with our loyal alumni and SU friends and family,” says Mulligan. “It is a natural progression in my career and working with the very talented NYC and campus teams has made the change from volunteer to employee such a joy. For me, being ‘Orange’ is truly a way of life!”

Andy Pregler ’15 knew he could not say “no” to Syracuse University. The School of Information Studies and Newhouse School dual major spent four years on campus as part of the mascot team and had just proposed to his fiancée at Lubin House a month prior. The newest engagement and marketing coordinator was excited to have the opportunity to wear orange once again. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, Pregler was an associate social media coordinator and associate mobile product manager at Major League Baseball Advanced Media.

“It really is the dream job,” says Pregler. “Syracuse was a home for me and I want to help other alumni who feel the same way continue to have a meaningful relationship with the University after graduation.”

The Office of Alumni Engagement’s broader goal is to better serve alumni in areas where Syracuse University alumni have set their roots. With over 240,000 active alumni around the globe, and nearly 50,000 of those in the New York Metro are alone, Mulligan, Pregler, and SU in NYC team have plenty of proud Orange to work with.
