A Time to Kill on Broadway with private talk back
November 1, 2013
Syracuse University alumni and friends headed to the John Golden Theatre recently to catch a preview performance of author John Grisham's A Time To Kill, his first novel to come to Broadway. A private talk back with cast and SU faculty followed the show.
The majority of A Time To Kill takes place in the court room in this production and centers around the incendiary story of a Southern community torn in half by an unspeakable crime. As the shocking news hits the public, small town America becomes the center of a media storm, where innocence is the victim, race is on trial and lives hang in the balance.
Following the play SU College of Law professor and co-director of the Cold Case Justice Janis McDonald, Ralph Zito, Chair of the Department of Drama in SU's College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Producer and Syracuse alumna Daryl Roth were joined by the cast for an exclusive talk back where they discused racial justice and equaltiy, both past and present, and the genesis of bringing Grisham's novel to Broadway.
